Privacy Disclosure of Farmers National Bank

At Farmers National Bank one of our four focal points in our mission statement is to provide outstanding customer service.   One way we can do this is by using client information to provide our clients with superior service and access to the right financial services and products.  We also recognize that our clients, both current and former, have important expectations regarding the use of that information.   Below you will find our privacy principles regarding any personal information you may supply to us.  Our goal is to protect the information about your relationship with our bank in all the ways we interact with you – in branches, at ATM's, on the phone and through a visit to our web site.  Personal information includes all of the personally identifying information you provide us.  You may give us personal information when you open an account, apply for a loan or other services, visit our web-site or when you send us e-mail.

This policy applies equally to active and inactive customers as well as to former customers.

Privacy Principles

1. Recognition of a Customer's Expectation of Privacy

Farmers National Bank recognizes and respects the privacy expectations of its customers and will take the steps necessary to protect the privacy of the

nonpublic personal information shared with us and to prevent misuse of that information.     

2. Use, Collection and Retention of Customer Information

Farmers National Bank collects, retains and uses nonpublic personal information about individual customers.  This information is obtained from many sources and some information is provided to us by you.  We also create information in the course of providing you with products and services.

  • Information from consumer reports, such as a consumer's credit worthiness and credit history

Farmers National Bank obtains, uses, and retains nonpublic personal information only if we believe it will be necessary and allowed by law in administering Farmers National Bank's business and in providing products, services and other opportunities to its customers.

Nonpublic personal information is information that is not available publicly and that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you.

3. Maintenance of Accurate Information

Farmers National Bank has established procedures so that a customer's financial information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with reasonable commercial standards.  Farmers National Bank also responds to requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.  In addition, various state and federal laws impose specific standards on us with respect to the accuracy of information we maintain, and the correction of erroneous information.

If you become aware of any inaccurate information contained in our records, you should contact us at (859) 236-2926 and we will undertake to investigate any inaccuracy and to correct it as promptly as possible. You are also entitled to request a copy of your credit report from credit reporting agencies and to have credit reporting agencies investigate and correct any inaccuracies contained in their reports.

4. Limiting Employee Access to Information

Farmers National Bank limits employee access to personally identifiable information to those with a business reason for knowing such information.  Farmers National Bank educates its employees so that they will understand the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy.  Farmers National Bank will also take the appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.

5. Protection of Information via Established Security Procedures

Farmers National Bank is committed to the security of your financial and personal information.  All of our operational and data processing systems are in a secure environment that protects your account information from being accessed by a third party. 

However, we may contract with other reputable companies in our efforts to offer you additional attractive products and services.  We may also contract with outside service providers to prepare account statements, enter transactions and balances or provide other materials or services on our behalf.  Farmers National Bank insists that these businesses adhere to strict privacy guidelines that provide for keeping such information confidential.

6. Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information

Farmers National Bank does not sell to nor share our client lists with unaffiliated third parties for the purpose of solicitation. Farmers National Bank does not reveal specific nonpublic personal information about customer accounts or other personally identifiable information to unaffiliated third parties for their independent use, except with the exchange of information with reputable credit reporting agencies to maximize the accuracy and security of such information or in the performance of due diligence, unless:

  • The customer requests it
  • The information is provided to help complete a customer initiated transaction, i.e. secondary market real estate loan
  • The disclosure is required or allowed by law
  • The customer has been informed about the possibility of such disclosure for marketing or similar purposes through a prior communication and is given the opportunity to decline (i.e., “opt out”).

If you, the customer, wish to opt out please contact us in writing at Farmers National Bank, 304 West Main Street, Danville, KY 40422, Attn: Customer Service or call us at (859) 236-2926 and request the Customer Service Department. Please include your full name, street address, telephone number including area code, and social security number.

Upon receipt, all opt out requests should be forwarded to the Chief Information Officer.

7. We disclose information when required by law or regulation.

There are numerous state and federal laws that require the disclosure of information to various governmental entities.  The Bank Secrecy Act, the Internal Revenue Code and the Right to Financial Privacy Act are some examples.  These and other laws that apply to us may also apply to our service providers and other contracted parties.  Finally, if you are involved in a legal proceeding, state and federal law provide the parties to the litigation with the right to obtain records and information from us.  In all these instances, we will disclose the information whenever required to do so by law, regulation or court order.

The Right to Financial Privacy Act guarantees:

  • Farmers National Bank provides customer's financial records to government authorities only after receiving proper written certification which includes a subpoena, search warrant or formal written request from the customer. [12 USC 3403(b)]
  • If requested, the customer is provided a copy of the records, including proper written certification from the requesting government agency and materials disclosed to such agency, unless prohibited by a court order. [12 USC 34049b)]
  • Farmers National Bank prohibits requiring customer authorization for disclosures of financial records as a condition of doing business. [12 USC 3404(b)]

Web-Site Privacy Statement of Farmers National Bank

Welcome to Farmers National Bank's Web-Site.  This section explains our policy regarding any personal information you may supply to us when you visit our site.  Our goal is to protect the information about your relationship with our bank on the Internet in all of the same ways that we protect it at all other points of contact. 

Visitors to Farmers National Bank ‘s public Web-Site remain anonymous.  Farmers National Bank does not collect identifying information about visitors to our site.  Farmers National Bank uses standard software to collect non-identifying information about our visitors, such as:

Email Privacy Statement

Email has grown rapidly as an efficient means of communication. If a customer, or non-customer, elects to contact Farmers National Bank via e-mail, please be aware that your e-mail address, and any other information your email header shows about you, such as your name or business, will be visible to us in the email.  Never send sensitive personal information (SSN, account numbers, ect.) through standard, unencrypted email. If a user of Farmers National Bank's Internet banking product, please use the "Send a Secure Email" option under "User Services."  When you communicate with us by email, we will only use your email information for the specific purpose of responding to your comments or questions.  Your email address will not be sold, nor will it be shared with others outside the institution unless we are required to do so by law.
